Hydroamination involves the reduction of an unsaturated carbon-carbon functional group through the addition of a hydrogen and an amine group. The unsaturated group can be either an alkene or an alkyne group as either are susceptible to hydroamination. It is a reaction that can be used to make useful amine products or intermediates. Reactions can also be performed either inter- or intra-molecularly to create complex molecules or heterocyclic compounds.

Hydroamination is most frequently performed catalytically using ruthenium, platinum or iridium metal complexes. Umicore PMC offers a range of active catalysts that can provide high yields to reactions while also offering the ability to reliably select the product regioselectivity. Get in touch to find out more or browse our products to discover the catalysts that can help you achieve simpler reactions.
